Electric Gypsy Bass
The Electric Gypsy bass prototype
Teye has built his first bass guitar. A 32 inch scale length A-Series. We used it in a band rehearsal: everybody agreed: best bass they’d ever heard!
The bass has two Nordstrand humbucking pickups; each with their own volume; then a master tone knob, and of course the bass version of the MOOD-knob.
The bass-MOOD-knob is radically different from the guitar MOOD knob. The ‘bypass’ position is in the middle! At one extreme of the knob (MOOD on 10) it emulates the punch of the first MusicMan Stig Ray bass, or that of the see-through Ampeg Dan Armstrong (a highly underrated bass). In the other extreme (MOOD on zero), you access the smoothness of a Jazz Bass.
To add low end to either position, you just roll it out of it’s extreme corner.
With the MOOD-knob in the middle ranges (between 3 and 7) Teye recommends using only one pick-up at the time: bridge pickup for a super-short and dry, funky sound, and neck pickup for a warmer flavor.
A-Series available in whatever setup you like. A-Series gets Teye bass-hardware.
S-Series available for now as four-string. S-Series for now will get Gibson hardware.
Available in every version that the guitar is available in. Price exactly the same as the corresponding guitar version.
Left-handed, as always, available at no extra charge.
