T-series La Llama and All-Gold

We’re making two T-series ‘La Llama’ guitars, and also a Gold Top&back. The Flame-topped T’s will have their maple caps finished in rich amber and their backs in black. The cap will extend all the way to the border of the guitar (much like you were used to before Teye made his A and S-series La Llamas). One ‘La Pirata’ single-pickup, and one ‘El Platero’ triple-pickup. Chrome hardware.

The Gold Top&Back single-pickup ‘La Pirata’ is almost finished, and is for a stunning new singer by the name of Vanessa Nicole. What a voice! Look for photos of this guitar here soon.

All three will be finished in Nitro-cellulose laquer, just like the first T-prototypes.With Nitro, we have certain possibilities looks-wise that we do not have with oil. It’ll be interesting to hear the difference in Tone between the Nitro and the Luthier’s oil, and even the S- and A-series violin finish.

Two-pickup Teye?

In conjunction with Dutch Teye-dealer MAX Music of The Hague, Teye is now gearing up to make the two-pickup version of his Electric Gypsy guitars. The two-pickup version was often requested but Teye remained headstrong on it: no 2-p/u Gypsies!

Until MAX-Music owner Robbert vd Ende suggested an elaborate switching scheme for a possible “dually”. With this switching, the guitar would still be a tremendously versatile instrument, plus a fresh challenge for Teye!

Expect the first guitars to be ready in the fall of 2010.

Juho Ruokangas triumphs in Montreal!

Juho Ruokangas, famous constructor of beautiful electric guitars from Finland and a fine human being, has been awarded the honor of making the next St. Cat guitar for the 2011 Montreal Guitar show!

We all say: Congratulations Juho, with this well-deserved success!

Guitar #100 has left the shop! Reason for champagne. The guitar has received a special banner to commemorate this mile-stone. She is A-Series La Llama, serial number A-030, one of the Three Sister guitars.

Price increase

The announced price increase has gone into effect. There are several reasons for the increase. Teye-guitars is changing, growing, and changes in circumstances invite changes all around. HOWEVER: during the next few weeks, IF you can convince me,

if you can convince me that you were thinking of ordering one before the price increase, I will still sell you a guitar at the old prices.

As soon as we iron out the last details with our dealers, this possibility will disappear.

Around the first of April, there will be a change in ordering your S- and T-Series guitars.S- and T-Series guitars will no longer be available for direct ordering. The S- and T-Series will then only be available at our select team of dealers. There will also be a price increase across the board.

The past two years have been incredible: our guitars have gained their rightful reputation as beautiful Tone-monsters. Everyone who has one says the same thing: this guitar beats the competition by a mile.

We cannot develop from here without some serious changes. We cannot concentrate on the building and the selling.

(A-Series and special request guitars will of course remain direct-order.)

My team and I wish to sincerely thank everybody who has brought us to this point! We invite you all to join us on this new chapter of the wild ride…

Two CLASSIC S-Series guitars

A customer in Europe is upgrading his collection to more expensive Teye-guitars, and has asked to part-exchange his two ORIGINAL, Pre-S-Plus option, classic S-SERIES guitars.
So we will have two S-Series Classic guitars for sale, with nice low prices on them:

S-Series “La India”, serial number S-0009: an early example of the S-Series, LOW serial number. $ 3200 (sold)
S-Series “La Mora”, serial number S-0023: this one already has the shaped pickup rings. $ 3400 (sold)
