“I have always been disappointed by guitar companies changing specs and cheapening parts every year to increase their margins, but still using the same model name. I will never do this. A cheaper guitar will carry a different name, and be marketed as a cost-saver. I am a player foremost, and builder secondly. I approach guitar design as a player and buyer of fine instruments. My guitar designs continue to improve over time, and I have installed free of charge the updates for those who wanted them.” -Teye
Teye Guitars are hand made in Austin, Texas, USA. We offer three models: the A-Series completely hand-built and adorned; the team-built S-Series, and the wallet-friendly T-Series. All three series are available in many strikingly different cosmetic variations.
Teye’s musical experiences shaped the design. He says, “There is a lot of balance in this guitar design: I use techniques taken from Classical and Flamenco guitar construction to make the naked guitar sound strong, even before any electronics are added.”
Sound-wise, I have tried to create a guitar that will cover all the ground as far as different directions of the Electric Guitar go: from Lester to Leo, so to speak, and most everything in between. You can even emulate the sound of an acoustic without piezo pickup and the accompanying pre-amps. Now you can:
- Just bring one guitar to the show instead of three or four
- Switch between extremes in sound during one song, even one solo
- Truly use the guitar as your expression tool, instead of being limited to a certain sonic imprint
and all this from a simple and intuitive control panel, and without any active electronics or batteries. -Teye
